黃酮類化合物(Flavonoids)是一類多苯基化合物(polyphenyl compounds)，是植物的次生代謝產物(secondary metabolites of plants)。它們對人體具有抗炎(anti-inflammatory)、抗菌(antibacterial)、降血脂(hypolipidemic effects)、清除體內羥基自由基(scavenging hydroxyl free radicals)、預防癌症(preventing cancer)等作用。槲皮素(Quercetin)是一種典型的類黃酮(flavonoid)。

該試劑盒提供了一種檢測植物組織(plant tissues)中類黃酮(flavonoid)含量的簡單方法。在鹼性亞硝酸鹽溶液()alkaline nitrite solution中，植物樣品中的黃酮類化合物(flavonoids)和鋁離子(aluminum ions)形成紅色絡合物(red complex)，在502 nm處有特徵吸收峰。通過測量樣品提取物在 502 nm 處的吸光度，可以計算出樣品中黃酮類化合物(flavonoid)的含量。

Applications notes	The kit provides a simple method for detecting the flavonoid content in plant tissues. In the alkaline nitrite solution, the flavonoids and aluminum ions in the plant samples form a red complex with a characteristic absorption peak at 502 nm. The flavonoid content of the sample can be calculated by measuring the absorbance of the sample extract at 502 nm.

Usage notes	• Do not mix or substitute reagents or materials from other kit lots or vendors. • Avoid foaming or bubbles when mixing or reconstituting components. • Avoid cross-contamination, change pipette tips between additions of standards, samples and reagents. Also, use separate reservoirs for each reagent. • Ensure all reagents and equipment are at the appropriate temperature before starting the assay. • Each sample needs to set up a control well, the OD value is greater than 0.6, the sample is appropriately diluted and then measured, pay attention to the calculation formula multiplied by the dilution factor. • Measure immediately after color development, and the absorbance will decrease after 2 hours.
Storage instructions	Storage at 4°C and protected from light upon receipt. Kit has a storage time of 6 months form receipt.
