葡萄糖苷酶（α-Glucosidase ,  EC3.2.1.20）位於小腸的刷狀緣，負責1，4-連接的多醣(1,4- linked polysaccharides)的酶水解，產生葡萄糖作為主要產物之一。由於葡萄糖是真核生物中主要能量來源之一，因此至關重要，α-葡萄糖苷酶(α-Glucosidase)是調節餐後高血糖的靶標。 α-葡糖苷酶抑制劑（. α-Gluosidase Inhibitors , AGI），例如阿卡波糖(Acarbose)，米格列醇(Miglitol)和伏格列波糖(Voglibose)是抗糖尿病藥物(anti-diabetic medicines)，可通過阻止胃腸道中的葡萄糖吸收來幫助降低餐後血糖水平。另外，最近的研究也集中在發現可以用作α-葡萄糖苷酶抑制劑的天然產物上。 BioVision的α-葡萄糖苷酶抑制劑篩選試劑盒可用於篩選該酶的潛在抑制劑。它利用活性α-葡萄糖苷酶切割合成底物的能力，從而釋放出生色團（OD：410 nm）。在α-葡萄糖苷酶特異性抑製劑的存在下，酶活性大大降低，這可通過降低吸光度讀數來檢測。該測定試劑盒提供了快速，簡單，可靠的測試方法，可進行高通量的α-葡萄糖苷酶抑製劑篩選。
