F-actin肌動蛋白是一種大約42 kDa的蛋白質，幾乎在所有真核細胞中都有發現，它也是最高度保守的蛋白質之一。肌動蛋白的單體為球形分子，稱為球形肌動蛋白G-actin，它的多聚體稱為纖維形肌動蛋白F-actin。這兩者對於細胞分裂過程中細胞的移動和收縮等重要的細胞功能都是必不可少的。AbFluor™ 594-Phalloidin 選擇性地結合F-actins, 它比氟西林-鄰苯二甲a)的抗性要高得多。Phalloidin衍生物 是標記、識別和定量甲醛固定(formaldehyde-fixed )和滲透組織部分( permeabilized tissue sections)中的F-actin的方便探針,可在細胞培養物中染色F-actin或cell-free experiments at nanomolar levels。
