Gap26 (Val-Cys-Tyr-Asp-Lys-Ser-Phe-Pro-Ile-Ser-His-Val-Arg) 是一種連接蛋白模擬肽(connexin mimetic peptide)，對應於連接蛋白 43 的殘基 63-75，它是一種間隙連接阻斷劑(gap junction blocker).連接蛋白(Connexins)或間隙連接(gap junctions)是結構相關的跨膜蛋白家族(structurally-related transmembrane proteins)。間隙連接(Gap junctions)包含允許離子和小分子在相鄰細胞分子之間通過的通道。鈣(Calcium)和肌醇磷酸鹽(inositol phosphates)是可以通過間隙連接通道的第二信使。 [1] 結果表明，gap26 減弱了兔動脈平滑肌(rabbit arterial smooth muscle)的節律性收縮活動 (IC50 = 28.4 mM)。它還阻止 IP3 誘導的 ATP 和 Ca2+ 跨連接蛋白半通道的運動，即尚未與對aligned cells中的伙伴對接並產生間隙連接細胞-細胞導管的六聚體通道(hexameric channels)。
