IGF I，也稱為機械生長因子(mechano growth factor)，生長激素-C(somatomedin-C)，IGF-I和IGF1，是一種分泌的蛋白質(secreted protein)，屬於胰島素家族(insulin family)。IGF或somatomedins構成一類多肽，在青春期前的哺乳動物生長中具有關鍵作用。 IGF-I的表達受GH調節並介導產後生長，而IGF-II似乎是由胎盤催乳素在產前發育過程中誘導的。 IGF1 / IGF-1可能是成骨細胞中[1-14C] -2-脫氧D-葡萄糖（2DG）轉運和糖原合成的生理調節劑。 IGF1 / IGF-I刺激大鼠骨骼來源的成骨細胞（rat bone-derived osteoblastic , PyMS）中的葡萄糖轉運，並且在比胰島素低得多的濃度下有效，不僅在糖原和DNA合成方面，而且在提高葡萄糖吸收方面。 IGF1 / IGF-I的缺陷是胰島素樣生長因子I缺乏症（IGF1 deficiency , IGF1缺乏症）的原因，胰島素樣生長因子I缺乏症是一種常染色體隱性遺傳疾病，其特徵在於生長發育遲緩 (growth retardation)，感覺神經性聾(sensorineural deafness) 和智力低下(mental retardation)。

Storage instructions	Lyophilized Human IL-3 protein product should be stored desiccated below -20°C. Upon reconstitution, the protein should be stored at 4°C between 2-7 days and for future use below -20°C. For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA). Please prevent freeze-thaw cycles.
