流感（流感）是哺乳動物和鳥類之呼吸道感染。它是由正黏液病毒科(0rthomyxoviride)中的RNA病毒引起的。病毒分為三種主要類型（甲型流感，甲型流感和流感C），其特徵在於兩種主要內部蛋白（血凝素（HA）和神經氨酸酶（NA）的差異。依外套膜上的HA 與NA 2種醣蛋白分為各種分型: 血球凝集素(Hemagglutinin, HA)，共有16種；神經胺酸酶(Neuraminidase, NA)，共有 9種。依NP及 M蛋白可分為 A型、 B型及 C型； A型流感病毒：人畜共通，會感染人類、哺乳動物與鳥類，可能會發生免疫學特性的重大轉變。B型流感病毒：只會感染人類。C型流感病毒：感染人類後不造成明顯臨床症狀, 不是發病率的重要來源。
