酪蛋白水解Casein Peptone Type I is an enzymatic hydrolysate of casein, rich in peptones and amino acids (including tryptophane). This peptone can be utilized by most bacteria as a growth substrate.

I型酪蛋白(Casein Peptone Type I)是酪蛋白(casein)的酶水解產物( enzymatic hydrolysate)酪蛋白水解而來，富含蛋白腖(peptones)和氨基酸，包括色氨酸(tryptophane)。大多數細菌都可以利用這種蛋白腖(peptones)作為生長底物。用於製備微生物培養與發酵使用。酪蛋白(casein)經由胰臟酵素水解(pancreatic digest)而成的營養成分，也是一般所謂胰水解蛋白的通用名稱。酪蛋白是牛奶中主要的蛋白質成分，富含各種胺基酸氮源，尤其是色胺酸(tryptophan)比例相當高。該蛋白可被大多數細菌用作生長底物。Tryptone的用途很廣，是LB medium、Terrific broth、Tryptic soy medium (TSB)與Fluid Thioglycollate Medium (FTM)等常用培養基的主要成分，也是抗生素、胞外蛋白質(extra-cellular protein)、干擾素(interferon)與疫苗毒素等發酵製程中重要的培養原料。
