The kit can be used for small lab samples or large scale virus preparation with high yield and high viral titer. The kit can be used to concentrate retroviruses, baculoviruses, lentiviruses, and phages etc. in cell culture medium or environmental samples. Virus can be concentrated over 100 folds. An optimized Virus Re-suspension Solution is provided to maximize viral recovery by 40-100% depending on the virus type and sources. The whole process uses non-toxic reagents. a) 對於高滴度病毒製劑，重懸體積應限制在白色沉澱體積的三倍左右，通常為原始樣品體積的 1/10 至 1/100。如果病毒懸浮液中存在不溶性物質，可透過在 +4°C 下以 3,200 x g 離心 15 分鐘將其去除。

b) 避免冷凍/解凍循環以最大限度地提高病毒恢復率。

c) 病毒懸浮液中微量的PEG不會影響濃縮病毒的使用。在某些情況下，PEG可能會提高病毒感染效率。然而，如果需要，可以透過以下步驟去除微量的 PEG：

將 1 體積的含有 4 M KCl 和 50 mM Tris-HCl，pH7.2（未提供）的溶液加入 3 體積的濃縮病毒懸浮液中。或者，將固體 KCl 加入病毒懸浮液中，直到終濃度為 1 M。在冰上靜置 15-30 分鐘。在 4°C 下以 12,000 x g 旋轉 10 分鐘以除去沉澱物。小心收集病毒上清液。等分並儲存於 -80°C 以備將來使用。
