志賀氏菌(Shigella)是革蘭氏陰性(Gram-negative)，非運動性(non-motile)，非孢子形成(non-spore forming)的桿狀細菌(rod-shaped bacteria)，與大腸桿菌(Escherichia coli)和沙門氏菌 (Salmonella) 密切相關。志賀氏菌(Shigella)是人類志賀氏菌病(human shigellosis)的病原體，也會在其他靈長類動物中引起疾病​​，但在其他哺乳動物中不會引起疾病。志賀氏菌物種按四個血清群分類：*血清群A (Serogroup A)：痢疾鏈球菌（S. dysenteriae , 12种血清型），*血清群B(Serogroup B)：弗氏鏈球菌（S. flexneri , 6种血清型），*血清群C(Serogroup C)：博伊氏鏈球菌（S. boydii , 23种血清型），*血清群D(Serogroup D)：S. sonnei（S. sonnei , 1种血清型）。志賀氏菌感染引起痢疾(dysentery)，導致盲腸(cecum)和直腸(rectum)中腸粘膜(intestinal mucosa)上皮細胞(epithelial cells)的破壞。一些菌株產生腸毒素(enterotoxin)和志賀毒素(Shiga toxin)，類似於大腸桿菌O157：H7的毒素。

Description	This product consists of purified IgG fraction of the above antiserum covalently coupled to a highly purified preparation of horseradish peroxidase (RZ >3) by methods . Care is taken to ensure adequate conjugation while preserving maximum enzyme activity. Free enzyme is absent. Immunoglobulin concentration in this product is 1-2 mg/ml. Estimated molar HRP:IgG substitution is 2-3.NOTE: sodium azide is a potent inhibitor of peroxidase !
