When used with other blood agar bases, e.g. LAB00 1 Columbia Agar, further enrichment of the medium with haemin, menadione and sodium pyruvate is beneficial. The addition of Tween 80, which enhances the growth of anaerobic cocci, to the medium is required for N.A.T. medium.
