Protein A蛋白A是bacterium Staphylococcus aureus細菌金黃色葡萄球菌的42kDa表面蛋白，其結合許多哺乳動物IgG的Fc region。 對免疫球蛋白高親和力經常用於biochemical research。R-藻紅蛋白（R-PE）是從紅藻中分離的240kDa red algae藻膽蛋白。 R-PE具有明亮的紅橙色螢光，具有高量子產率，並且比其他常規螢光團和藻膽蛋白更亮。R-PE的吸收光譜覆蓋一系列激發波長，這為multi-color immunofluorescent staining多色免疫螢光染色或cell-sorting細胞分選提供了優勢。 R-PE的發射最大值為575nm。 R-PE用於基於螢光的檢測，通常用於需要高靈敏度的測定。
