Protocol Overview<\/strong><\/td>\n\n

1. Specimens are limited to naso\/oropharyngeal swabs which are stored in Specimen Transport Media.<\/p>\n

2. Transfer 500 \u00b5l of freshly re-suspended Specimen Transport Media sample into clearly labelled eppendorf tube. Centrifuge the mixture at 12000 rpm for 5 minutes. Discard the supernatant.<\/p>\n

3. Thoroughly re-suspend the COVID-19 Sample Preparation Solution and immediately transfer 200 \u00b5l of the homogenized COVID-19 Sample Preparation Solution to the collected 500 \u00b5l specimen sample.<\/p>\n

4. Vortex the mixture thoroughly. Heat the mixture at 100\u00b0C for 10 minutes then cool the mixture on ice for 5 minutes.<\/p>\n

5. Centrifuge the mixture at 12000 rpm for 5 minutes. The resulting supernatant is used directly as the template in the ensuing analyses and will be referred to as the \u201cRNA sample\u201d.<\/p>\n

6. RNA sample must be used immediately with the COVID-19 RT-qPCR Rapid Detection Kit (Cat. No. G628).<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
